GREAT SUMMER 2014

Happy SUMMER everyone!
We made it through the longest winter of all time, and are excited to turn up the faders and get the Hi-Life Sound System pumping!
June is turning out to be our busiest month ever, with 7 gigs on the calendar. From a media Fundraiser, to a graduation party, a block party, and our first ever gig at the wonderful, classic HIDEOUT INN on Saturday, 6/28, where DJBC will be spinning the inaugural "Punky Reggae Fight Club," mixing and mashing two of the most revolutionary movements in the history of recorded music.  Think Clash, Bob Marley, Ramones, Lee Perry, Buzzcocks, Jackie Mittoo, Police, Culture, Sex Pistols, Specials etc.  We are extremely excited for this show, and if recent experience is any indication, the younger set that comes to dance at the Hideout turns up the Juice! Brilliant!!
BIG NEWS!
The HLSS is pleased to welcome a new DJ to our ranks: DJ WHISPERS!
--who specializes in Ultimate Chill, Oldies, easy listening, and vernacular musics of America and the World.  Have a Ladies Night?  Lovers Dance party?
Or an all night Ambient Groove Healing Chill???  No idea too far out for Whispers, and his debut will be a 1950's Sock Hop at Belmont Village (Assisted Care Facility) on Friday, 6/20, spinning for the Seniors!
